The August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse in Massalcoreig (Lleida)

At 102 metres above sea level, Massalcoreig was the lowest and warmest municipality of all those the band caught in Lleida: a mean maximum of 33.7 degrees and a minimum of 21 for the date, down on the plain where the Cinca joins the Segre. It also held the best sky statistics of the leading six, with 58 % of clear days. The irony is that this sky came paired with the group's worst horizon, 2.8 degrees of margin, almost half that of Almatret or Llardecans, and with only 62 seconds of totality. And that the provincial clear-sky record was not even its own but Torrefarrera's, on 59.1 % and eight seconds of total phase. The combination of the three variables left it fourth, on 69.9 points. The climate percentages summarise the 1996-2025 period and do not describe the sky of that 12 August. The shadow held from 20:29:06 to 20:30:08, the sixth longest stretch in the province.
