What data is processed

This site requires no registration or login: no identifying data is collected through forms.

Your browser stores locally (localStorage), only on your device, your usage preferences for the map app: 2D/3D view, terrain quality (SD/HD), compared points, expert mode, and active layers. This data never leaves your device and never reaches the owner, and requires no consent as it is strictly functional.

The map and sky-viewer pages query, directly from your browser, the elevation-profile service of Spain's National Geographic Institute (api-processes.idee.es) to compute the visible horizon from each point. This query does not identify the user; it is governed by IGN's own terms.

To measure aggregate site usage we use Cloudflare Web Analytics (when active), a cookieless tool that does not identify individual users or build tracking profiles.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site integrates Google AdSense on its editorial content pages (not on the map/viewer tools or the legal pages). The AdSense script may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser under Google's policies, to show ads, measure their performance, and, depending on your consent settings, personalize them.

In the European Economic Area, consent is managed through Google's certified consent management platform (CMP), in line with GDPR/ePrivacy: personalized ads are not served without your explicit consent.

Legal basis and your rights

Where personal data is processed (for example, through Google AdSense advertising), the legal basis is the user's consent, collected via the consent management platform (CMP).

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction, and portability by writing to the contact listed in the footer. You can also file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

Retention and security

No personal data is retained beyond what is strictly necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the site or to applicable law. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
