Cookie policy

What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser to remember information. Similar technologies (such as localStorage) serve a similar purpose and are subject to the same regulations.
What this site uses today
This site does NOT set its own tracking cookies. It uses localStorage — technically not a cookie, but governed by the same regulations — strictly for technical/functional purposes, to remember your preferences within the map app: 2D/3D view, terrain quality (SD/HD), compared points, expert mode, and active layers. It is never used for advertising or analytics, and it never leaves your browser.
To measure aggregate site usage we use Cloudflare Web Analytics (when active), which sets no cookies or persistent identifiers.
Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)
This site integrates Google AdSense on its editorial content pages. Google and its advertising partners may set third-party cookies to show and measure ads and, if you consent, to personalize them.
In the European Economic Area, these personalization cookies are only activated after you give consent through Google's consent management platform (CMP). You can review the list of participating vendors and their policies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Managing cookies from your browser
Regardless of the consent platform, you can block or delete cookies from your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Blocking certain cookies may affect how parts of the site or its ads work.
Updates
This page will be updated whenever the cookies actually used by the site change.
