The August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse in Aldealengua de Santa María (Segovia)

No Segovian municipality gathered more shadow or a better score. Aldealengua de Santa María closed the province with 100 seconds of totality and 81.6 index points, topping both tables at once. What underpins that score is not only the stopwatch: at 977 metres on the plateau falling away to the north-east, the horizon model credited it with 7.0 degrees of clearance under a Sun sitting at 8. Barely one degree of relief stood between the disc and the ground line, about as clean a skyline as the hour allowed.

It was also the first of the five north-eastern Segovian villages to enter shadow, at 20:29:44, with maximum fifty seconds later and totality ending at 20:31:24. Its sky statistic, 50.9 % clear days between 1996 and 2025, sat two tenths below its southern neighbours, a nuance that weighed nothing against the seconds it gained. That figure is thirty years of climatology and says nothing about the actual sky on the day.
