The August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse in Riaguas de San Bartolomé (Segovia)

At the southern end of the cluster that held Segovia's longest totalities, Riaguas de San Bartolomé was the last of the five to be covered, at 20:29:48, six seconds after Maderuelo. That minimal delay is the signature of lying further south, at 41.43 degrees of latitude, right where the band began to narrow and durations started to slip. It settled at 99 seconds, one short of the provincial ceiling, and fourth in the Segovian index on 81.3.

In exchange it shares with Alconada de Maderuelo the best climate figure in the group, 51.1 % clear days across the thirty 12 Augusts from 1996 to 2025, and carries the highest rainfall indicator of the five, 28 against its neighbours' 27. The Sun stood at 8 degrees and the model left 6.8 of them clear from its 949 metres. It bears repeating: those percentages are the memory of thirty Augusts, not the forecast for that one.
