The August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse in Ulldecona (Tarragona)

The best-rated point in Tarragona was not on the coast but inland, on the step rising towards the Ports. Ulldecona, at 235 metres, gathered 81.6 points and topped the provincial index without winning a single column outright: its 96 seconds of totality rank fourth among the 169 municipalities in the band, its 55.5 % historical clear sky ranks seventh, and its 2.8 degrees of skyline clearance are slightly more generous than Godall's or Amposta's. It was the balanced sum of all three that put it on top.

It was also the last of these six municipalities to be covered, at 20:30:08: the shadow swept the province from north-east to south-west, so the capital entered totality forty-four seconds before the southern tip of the Montsià. Maximum came at 20:30:56 with the Sun at 5 degrees on an azimuth of 286. The climate percentages come from thirty years of records, not from an observation made that day.
