The August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse in Godall (Tarragona)

Of the six Tarragona municipalities detailed in this archive, none had a tighter skyline than Godall: 2.3 degrees of clearance under a Sun that at 20:30:50 stood 5 degrees above the ground line. Put another way, little more than four solar diameters separated the eclipsed disc from the terrain, on an azimuth of 286 degrees, west-north-west. Choosing the observing spot well was not a refinement here, it was the condition for seeing anything at all.

Whoever solved it got 96 seconds of totality, the third longest in the province and only two short of La Sénia's maximum, plus a sky statistic of 55.2 % clear days between 1996 and 2025, tenth in Tarragona. The combination yielded 81.5 points, second in the province by a tenth. Totality ran from 20:30:02 to 20:31:38 from the village's 162 metres. The clear-sky percentage is an average of thirty Augusts and does not describe what happened on that particular day.
