The August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse in Rodeiro (Pontevedra)

Thirteen seconds. From 20:29:17 to 20:29:30, and it was over. Rodeiro has the shortest totality of every municipality covered by these pages, less time than it takes to remove and replace a pair of eclipse glasses, and it is the exact portrait of what it means to sit on the very edge of the band. A little further from the centre line and there would have been no totality at all, only a very deep partial eclipse.

The irony is that in every other respect Rodeiro was the best of the three Pontevedra municipalities inside the band. It has the highest ground at 689 metres, the best sky record, 24.8% of open sky in the 1996-2025 register, and the lowest incidence of rain, 29.8% of those thirty days. The Sun stood 11 degrees up with 11.6 degrees of clearance, so the terrain took nothing away. None of it made up for the seconds: 42.2 points and last place in the province. The eclipse ended in full view, at 21:22:51.
