Agolada enjoyed a privilege denied to almost the whole mainland band: here the eclipse was visible from beginning to end. First contact came at 19:32:01 and fourth at 21:22:42, with the Sun still in the sky, whereas in the eastern half of the band sunset cut the event short before the Moon had finished withdrawing. The trade-off is that totality, squeezed between 20:28:55 and 20:29:30, lasted barely 35 seconds, the maximum of a province that contributed only three municipalities.

The other striking figure is the horizon: 11.6 degrees of clearance for a Sun sitting at 11. In other words, the western terrain profile did not rise even half a degree, and in practice relief stopped being a variable at all. With 24.1% of 12 Augusts clear across the three decades measured and 577 metres of altitude, Agolada scored exactly 50.0 points out of 100 on the site's index: precisely half marks, and still the best in Pontevedra.
