Prádena del Rincón came within three tenths of being the best spot in the Madrid region, and the distribution of the variables explains why it was not. It held the widest horizon margin of the top five, 5.9 degrees, and a better sky than La Hiruela, 49 % of clear days against 46.3 %. But it lost three seconds of totality, 1m 25s against 1m 28s, and in this index duration is the heaviest of the three variables. At 1,240 metres, with the Sun eight degrees above the western horizon, the municipality combined two advantages that rarely travel together in the sierra: enough altitude to command the horizon, and a position that did not bury it at the bottom of a valley. Its neighbours confirm it by contrast, since Montejo de la Sierra, less than six kilometres away, had two degrees of margin. The percentages cover the Augusts from 1996 to 2025.
