Beteta was the only municipality in Cuenca to lead both columns at once. Its 91 seconds matched the provincial maximum, shared with Cueva del Hierro and Valsalobre, and the 57.0% of its 12 Augusts under open sky in the 1996-2025 series was the best among the index top five and 28th of the 121 municipalities in the band. Leading on duration is a matter of geometry and depends on nobody; also leading on climate, inside a province whose records run from 46.9% to 69.6%, is another matter.

Totality ran from 20:30:54 to 20:32:25, with maximum at 20:31:40 and the Sun only 6 degrees above the horizon, one of the lowest elevations anywhere in the mainland band. The ground left 6.4 degrees ahead of it, so it took nothing away. It sits at 1,285 metres and its average cloud cover on 12 August is 27.3%. At 21:10:12 the Sun set still partly covered: the end of the eclipse was not visible from here.
