Tartanedo is Guadalajara's clearest illustration that the site's ranking does not reward seconds alone. With 101 seconds of totality it came nineteenth in duration among the 288 municipalities inside the band, two behind the provincial maximum, and yet it reached second place in the index on 83.5 points. It got there through climate: its 55.9% of open sky across the thirty-year record is the best among the five leaders, and in the formula climate carries 30% against duration's 40%. Two seconds less, better odds.

The rest fits the local profile: 1,235 metres, 6.1 degrees of slack against the western skyline and a low Sun, 6 degrees above the azimuth-284 point at the 20:30:58 maximum. The full window ran from 20:30:07 to 20:31:48. By 21:10:25 the Sun had gone, the eclipse unfinished. Worth repeating: that 55.9% summarises thirty Augusts, from 1996 to 2025, and says nothing whatsoever about the sky on the day itself.
