The August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse in Peñalba (Huesca)

Seventy seconds: the Huesca maximum was measured at Peñalba, and nowhere in the province went beyond it. That is a short totality next to the minute and three quarters of the Cantabrian coast, but it came with the best skyline combination in the district. The model assigned it 5.3 degrees of clearance against a solar altitude rounded to 5, which in practice means the terrain never intercepted the line of sight: the most generous value of the five Huesca municipalities gathered here.

Add 61.0 % clear sky in the record running from 1996 to 2025 and the index score of 73.8 makes sense, second in the province by a tenth behind Valfarta. Totality ran from 20:29:05 to 20:30:15, with maximum at 20:29:40 from 319 metres of altitude. After that came a little over half an hour of waning partial eclipse until the Sun set, at 21:03:54, without the event having finished above the horizon. Nothing here says what the sky actually did.
