The August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse in Llardecans (Lleida)

Llardecans and Massalcoreig ended 12 August with the same 62 seconds of totality, and the index separated them by seven tenths in the latter's favour. What broke the tie was the sky: Llardecans' 55.4 % of clear days is the lowest of Lleida's leading six, against the other's 58 %. In exchange, Llardecans had the better horizon, 4.9 degrees of margin from its 318 metres on the Les Garrigues plateau, plus a small peculiarity none of the other leading Lleida towns shares: it was the only one whose solar azimuth at maximum rounded to 286 degrees rather than 285, even though 286 is in fact the province's majority value, covering 32 municipalities out of 52. Around it, Torrebesses and Sarroca de Lleida were already down to 55 and 54 seconds. The cloud figures are the average of thirty Augusts between 1996 and 2025. The village lay inside the umbra from 20:29:11 until 20:30:13.
