The provincial capital offered the worst possible deal in seconds and the best in odds. Its 68 seconds of total phase, counted from 20:31:15 to 20:32:23, leave it 247th out of the province's 288 entries in the band: 35 seconds short of Algar de Mesa, out at the eastern edge. In exchange, its sky record is the third best in the whole province, six in every ten 12 Augusts of the 1996-2025 series dawned cloudless, 60.7%, and its rainfall figure is among the lowest the model holds, with only 10.3% of those thirty days seeing precipitation.

The contrast has a simple geographical cause. Guadalajara sits at 666 metres, near the bottom of the provincial altitude ranking at 285th of 288, out of the eastern high plains and already in the Henares basin, with an average high of 32.1 degrees against Maranchon's 27.3. It was also the logistically comfortable choice: hotels, a station, road access, none of which the villages of the Senorio could match. With 6.1 degrees of horizon clearance and the Sun at 7, the western view was not the problem. At 21:14:40 the disc dropped below the horizon without having recovered its shape.
