Eleven kilometres from Bordón lies La Cuba, and its case explains what was at stake in the Maestrazgo better than any table can. La Cuba had 1m 41s of totality, one second more than Bordón, and the model still ruled it blocked: the relief towards the west-northwest swallowed the Sun completely, margin zero, and its score collapsed to 53.8. Bordón, at 874 metres, kept 2.7 degrees of margin, the tightest of the five leading Teruel towns, and with them posted 83.9 points and fourth place in the province. Mirambel, a little further off, landed in an uncomfortable middle ground: 1.1 degrees and 69.7 points. Totality opened over Bordón at 20:30:11 and closed at 20:31:51, with the Sun around five degrees up. Its 1996-2025 record gives 58.6 % clear days on that date, a thirty-year average that was never a forecast for that evening. The date is wet in 32.2 % of years there, the highest such reading among the Teruel municipalities profiled here.
