The August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse in Algímia d'Alfara (València/Valencia)

Algímia d'Alfara is the highest and most inland of the five Camp de Morvedre municipalities that reached the top of the Valencia index: 287 metres of average elevation against the nine or ten of Quartell, Benavites and Canet d'En Berenguer. That position, already inside the fold of the sierra, is also its weakness, because with the Sun at just 5 degrees the model leaves it 2.2 of margin, the poorest figure of the five.

The contrast with Torres Torres, 1.7 kilometres away, is instructive: both had 80 seconds of totality, yet the index separates them by nine points, 81.1 against 72.1. The difference lies not in the clock but in the horizon, 2.2 clear degrees here versus 1.4 there, and in the statistical sky, 73.2 per cent clear days against 71.9 per cent. That percentage is a 1996-2025 average for this date and was never a forecast for 12 August 2026.
