With 76 seconds of totality, the provincial capital landed exactly one second below the median of its own province, 77, and 31st among the 59 A Coruña municipalities inside the band. In duration it was, literally, the most ordinary town in the province: thirty-one seconds short of Mañón, and 49.6 kilometres from Cedeira, where the event lasted twenty-three seconds longer.

What set the city apart was its horizon. The terrain model assigns it only 1.1 degrees of obstruction, so of the Sun's 12 degrees of altitude, 10.9 remained clear, more headroom than any mountain municipality in this series enjoyed. At 52 metres of average elevation, the ground was never the problem here. The sky is another matter: 16.1 per cent clear days in that time window and 54.9 per cent mean cloud cover in the 1996-2025 record, three decades of statistics for the date rather than a report of that day. One last detail: here the eclipse ended at 21:21:54 with the Sun still above the horizon, which happened neither in Valencia nor in Barcelona, where the disc set before the end.
