The August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse in Villalaco (Palencia)

At 20:28:44 the Sun went out over Villalaco, and none of the other five Palencia municipalities featured in this archive entered totality earlier. The difference is a matter of seconds, but it reflects something real: the shadow crossed the province from northwest to southeast, and Villalaco, in the Pisuerga valley near Astudillo, is the northernmost of the group. Up there it also lasted longer, 106 seconds, one short of the provincial ceiling, and 72nd of 191.

Its weak point was the ground. With 6.4 degrees of horizon clearance it posts the tightest value of the six, nearly two degrees below Antigüedad or Hornillos, though still comfortable next to the provincial minimum of 3.2. The sky, 52.0% of clear days, ranks 38th. The sum earned it 84.1 points and third place in Palencia. The Sun set at 21:22:06 without completing the eclipse, and its altitude, 807 metres, is among the lowest of the six.
