The August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse in Teruel (Teruel)

The provincial capital was inside the band, and that was very nearly the whole of its merit. Teruel came 186th of the 236 Teruel municipalities in the observation index, on 79.7 points, and 174th for duration: 1m 34s of total phase, six seconds less than the villages of the province's north-east. The horizon was not the difficulty, with 4.7 degrees of margin from the city's 915 metres, as much as Oliete had. The difficulty was the climate: 51.8 % of clear days across the 1996-2025 series, below the provincial median of 54 %. The immediate surroundings made the picture worse, since Celadas, sixteen kilometres out, records the Teruel minimum at 45.9 %, and Villastar was held to 64.6 points by a margin of 1.1 degrees. Totality was visible from Teruel between 20:30:59 and 20:32:33, with the Sun six degrees above the western horizon. Its eclipse magnitude was 1.03, as it was everywhere along this stretch of the path.
