The August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse in Pedrafita do Cebreiro (Lugo)

At 1,170 metres, on the pass separating Galicia from León, Pedrafita do Cebreiro was the worst placed on the stopwatch of the six Lugo entries gathered here, with 85 seconds, twenty-four below the provincial ceiling, and yet the best rated in the whole province, on 72.8 points. The reason fits into one number: 39.8 % clear days in the August series from 1996 to 2025, six times Ribadeo's figure and the second best of the 66 Lugo municipalities in shadow.

The climate model rests on geographic position, altitude and distance from the sea, and here the last two push the same way: far from the sea and well above it, the statistic improves abruptly compared with the Mariña. It was also the last of this group to enter totality, at 20:28:26, fifty-six minutes after the eclipse began at 19:32:14. The Sun held at 11 degrees, with 8.5 free below it, and the event closed at 21:22:24.
