None of the 14 Ávila municipalities in the band had a western sky as open as Donvidas, and in fact none of the 29 entries in this archive matched its figure: 8.6 degrees between the Sun at maximum and the west-northwest terrain. Out on the cereal plain of the Arévalo country, at 855 metres, nothing interrupted the line of sight to the point where the Moon finished covering the disc.

The irony is that this textbook horizon served 34 seconds of totality, third longest in the province. Between 20:31:10 and 20:31:44 there was no time to reframe a camera or look up twice. The statistical sky, 53.7% clear days on 12 August across the 1996-2025 series, was the fifth best in Ávila, and mean cloud cover of 28.7% among the lowest. Even so the index stopped at 58.5 points: duration carries 40% of the weight, and here there was nothing to offset it with.
