In Almería the climate switches sign. Adra and Balanegra record 73.3 % of clear days averaged over the whole of 2 August, and 86.7 % looking only at the hour the eclipse will fall in: a gain of thirteen and a half points. It is the exact opposite of what happens at the Strait, where at eleven in the morning the low cloud has still not cleared. Together with Albuñol, in Granada, they are the three points on the route that gain most once the figure is pinned to the actual hour.

The province contributes five municipalities, the smallest contingent of the four on the mainland, and all of them lie in the Poniente: Balanegra with 105 seconds of totality, Adra with 103, La Mojonera with 99, Roquetas de Mar with 90 and El Ejido with 80. This is where the total eclipse goes out on the peninsula: totality ends at Roquetas at 10:51:54. Balanegra holds another extreme, the mildest average maximum on the path at 24.2 °C, nearly eleven degrees below El Bosque, up in the Cádiz sierra.

With durations so close together, the index ends up ranking them by how far they can see. Balanegra and Adra have 54 and 58 kilometres of open view to the west-southwest, the umbra's line of approach, and score 66.1 and 66.0. Roquetas de Mar and El Ejido have ground in front of them inside the first kilometre and settle at 44.2 and 44.1, despite being only thirteen to twenty-five seconds shorter. The clear-sky percentages count thirty summers, 1996 to 2025: they describe a tendency, not that day's forecast.

Here the eclipse window and the whole-day average tell much the same story, unlike the coast of the Strait, where morning low cloud drags the mid-morning figure down in several municipalities. Mean low cloud in that hour is around 2.5 %.
